I’ve learned something today
- At the AWS Summit Hamburg on 20 May 2026, there will be dedicated speaking slots for members of the AWS User Group Community. These sessions are likely to offer more authentic technical insights and real-world experiences. They will probably also contain far less boring marketing-driven content than the typical vendor presentations.
- A mature publicly listed company can easily operate an AWS footprint comprising 40 production AWS services, with more than 100 microservices running across 4 Amazon EKS clusters that form the backbone of its platform architecture. At enterprise scale, the underlying data layer alone may include 32 Aurora MySQL clusters, 29 Redis clusters on ElastiCache, and 26 high-throughput DynamoDB tables supporting demanding production workloads.
- In large enterprise environments, for example organizations managing more than 10,000 users across 5,000+ AWS accounts, centralized ticket-based administration can become a scalability bottleneck and increase the risk of human error. One possible way to address this challenge is to evolve from a single privileged administrator model toward automated workflows and eventually API-driven delegation using AWS IAM Identity Center.
- A Lambda Authorizer is an AWS Lambda function that acts as a gatekeeper for API Gateway. It validates incoming requests before they reach backend services. What makes Lambda Authorizers especially powerful is their flexibility. Organizations can implement customized authentication and authorization logic, such as JWT validation, role-based access control, IP restrictions, or integrations with third-party identity providers, without embedding security logic directly into the application itself.
- The AWS Amazon SES Email Validation API enables organizations to validate email addresses in real time before sending emails or onboarding users. It performs checks such as syntax validation, DNS verification, mailbox existence, and disposable email detection to improve deliverability, reduce bounce rates, and protect sender reputation.
- The AWS Community Lounge is a dedicated community format within the AWS Summit Hamburg 2026, organized and delivered by the AWS user group community in the DACH region. Often described as a “Meetup of Meetups,” it creates a separate community-driven space inside the summit where developers, architects, and cloud enthusiasts exchange practical knowledge.
- A place like that, where one could escape the rainy weather of that day, was truly a bliss:
