I’ve learned something today
- A Wissenskompass (knowledge compass) is an AI-supported, structured visualization of a company’s knowledge. Developed by the Community of Ki (see https://community-of-ki.org/), it provides orientation and highlights relationships and knowledge gaps. This makes the company’s organizational memory easier to understand, navigate, and use.
- The community of Ki is an interdisciplinary network that makes artificial intelligence accessible to everyone, not just techies. Its main motivation is to combine diverse perspectives and turn AI into practical solutions for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and everyday work.
- Social-science methods such as expert interviews, controlled dialogue, active listening, narrative interviews, and storytelling can improve prompting by structuring questions and eliciting richer context. They help organize the prompting process into clear stages, including framing the topic, asking targeted follow-up questions, reflecting on responses, and progressively refining the output.
- Although this may seem unexpected, social-science methods such as expert interviews, controlled dialogue, active listening, narrative interviews, and storytelling are becoming increasingly relevant in the technology field. In the era of GenAI, they may provide a clear structure for the prompting of LLMs.
- The Community of KI presents a practical use case for AI-supported offboarding and onboarding. It shows how structured AI dialogues can preserve and transfer valuable knowledge. There is an 11-minute YouTube video titled “Community of KI: Demovideo Off/On-Boarding with AI [Englisch].”
- A community of practice brings together people who share a professional field and improve how they work through regular exchange and shared experience. A community of inquiry focuses more strongly on collective questioning, critical reflection, and the development of new understanding. The two are closely related: communities of practice strengthen existing knowledge through application, while communities of inquiry challenge and expand that knowledge through exploration.
- There was no impact from the heatwave on this day, as temperatures remained relatively cool at around 20 degrees:
